选用的变频器是移相多重化的中压变频器，主回路上没有发生过故障，其可靠性还是比较满意的。虽然在运行时曾发生跳车，但其原因是外线路失电引起的。控制回路上由于湿度高而有过几次故障。采取的措施是变频器室内加装除湿设备，平时加强对设备的保养。所应用的节能产品与非节能产品相比，降耗方面的表现。多功能控制阀使用现场。
节能前后的能耗比较主要从两方面进行说明，，独立的节能设备，例如催化烟气轮机节能12000kW，每年节约价值7000万元以上。第二，设备节能改造后与改造前的能耗对比。2010年对全公司机泵、空冷、鼓引风机的运行参数与设计值、实际运行参数进行了统计估算，筛选出了64个位号的转动设备有较好的节能潜力。邀请中国石油大学、抚顺石油学院对这些设备进行了详细核算和标定，并分几批对机泵进行了改造。下一阶段将继续深化转动设备节能改造，目前正在实施的节能项目主要有锅炉鼓、引风机增加液力偶合器的改造，硫磺焚烧炉风机增加磁力调速器的改造，部分凉水塔风机、空冷风机增加永磁调速器的改造及新上技措项目配套电动机采用高效节能变频电动机等。预计在2011年公司在设备节能方面将会提高一个大的台阶，收效也将会是非常显著的。
在实际工程设计与应用中，为了保证大负荷时风机或水泵系统满足输出要求，通常需要按系统的大输出能力配备风机水泵系统，而真正使用中，绝大多数情况下并非需要系统在满负荷下使用，而是根据负载的实际需要，通过流量控制元件如阀门或风门挡板等，实现流量和压力控制，以满足生产过程的需要。
